Jack Lufkin, Regional Senior Vice President at Machias Savings Bank in the Southern Maine market. He is committed to ensuring superior customer service and fostering regional economic growth. Jack is recognized as a collaborative and strategic leader in Southern Maine, which he calls home. His wealth of banking experience over the decades as well as his work with the City of Portland as Director of Economic Development has given him valuable insight. In his current role, he leads Branch Managers and Relationship Managers in Southern Maine while meeting and exceeding growth and retention goals. Jack is also the Board Treasurer of the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce and a Board Member of Portland Ovations. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Maine.

Jack share’s the bank’s story of building relationships and raising visibility in the southern Maine area. After a strategic restructuring in early 2021, this community bank headquartered in Downeast Maine is quickly building momentum in the Greater Portland market. Jack will walk us through their approach to marketing, community connections and branding as they deepen their presence in southern Maine.

Marnie Grumbach, Marnie Grumbach specializes in integrated marketing communications (IMC) and public relations. She founded fluent imc in 2012 to help clients create and implement effective IMC strategies. A problem-solver by nature, Marnie loves both the art and science of integrated marketing. She is also an experienced copywriter. Marnie is a member of the Maine Public Relations Council Board of Directors and the Maine Assoc. of Nonprofits. She received an MBA from Husson University and a BA in Communications from Elizabethtown College.

Public relations is a somewhat misunderstood cousin to marketing. Marnie explains what PR is and how it differs from marketing and advertising. She’ll help us identify the different approaches to PR (from crisis communications to thought leadership) and give us some practical ideas for earning and leveraging third-party credibility that can help our brands stand out. She’ll use case studies of her agency’s work supporting Machias Savings Bank and other clients to earn media coverage, raise brand awareness and plan strategically for how PR and marketing can work together to boost brand visibility.

 

Rich Brooks, is founder and president of flyte new media, a digital agency in Portland, Maine, that’s been in business for over 24 years. He is a nationally recognized speaker on entrepreneurship, digital marketing, and social media. He founded The Agents of Change, an annual conference and weekly podcast that focuses on search, social & mobile marketing. He recently co-founded Fast Forward Maine, a podcast and workshop series for growing Maine businesses.

Rich is the author of The Lead Machine: The Small Business Guide to Digital Marketing, a popular and well-received book that helps entrepreneurs and marketers reach more of their ideal customers online. He has appeared in Inc. Magazine, The Huffington Post, FastCompany.com, CNN.com, the Social Media Examiner, and many other news sources for stories on digital marketing.

He is also the “tech guru” on the evening news show, 207, which airs on the NBC affiliates in Maine.
